SMC's Directorate Wins Command's Award

1/17/2014 - LOS ANGELES AIR FORCE BASE, El Segundo, Calif. -- The Space and Missile Systems Center's Space Logistics Directorate (SMC/SL) was recently named the U.S. Air Force Space Command's 2013 Maintenance Effectiveness Award winner in the Depot Maintenance category.

"SMC/SL won this honor by accomplishing superior communications and electronics depot maintenance for space system ground segments," wrote Lt. Gen. Ellen Pawlikowski, SMC commander, in a congratulatory email. "The directorate assured the United States military uninterrupted and continuous access to space systems by maintaining equipment valued at over 56 billion dollars, including critical mission support for Operation Enduring Freedom and the continuous War on Terrorism. In addition, SMC/SL developed and executed maintenance plans, assuring ground sites remained operational at 60 worldwide locations."
