Patrick-Cape members, Junior Enlisted Officer Corp cadets, and others
from all generations of military service gathered at Wickham Senior
Center in Melbourne, Fla., at 2 a.m. to show their gratitude and respect
to World War II and Korean War veterans Aug. 22, 2015.
Nearly every month, the Space Coast Honor Flight sends World War II and
Korean War Veterans on a one-day trip to Washington, D.C., to visit
their war memorials.
Civic leaders, members of Team Patrick-Cape and Brevard County who serve
or plan to serve, and other supporters gather at Wickham Senior Center
on the mornings of the veteran's send off to Washington, D.C., to thank
them for their service.
August's Honor Flight sent 21 World War II and four Korean War veterans.
To date, the organization has sent 775 vets to see their war memorials.
