Release Number: 020514
5/27/2014 - JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii -- Approximately
12 F-16s from New Jersey and Washington, D.C. Air National Guards are
set to deploy to Kunsan Air Base, Republic of Korea, on June 1, 2014,
demonstrating continuing U.S. commitment to stability and security in
the Asia-Pacific region.
Air Combat Command continues to routinely deploy fighter aircraft to the
region, providing Pacific Air Forces and the U.S. Pacific Command a
Theater Security Package, deepening ties with our allies and our
relationship with the international community.
Movement of U.S. Air Force fighters into the Pacific has been a routine
and integral part of U.S. Pacific Command's combat capable air forces
and regional force posture since March 2004, in order to maintain a
prudent deterrent against threats to regional security and stability.
