Coast Guard Retiree Hikes the Appalachian Trail

Senior Chief Petty Officer Vernon King, USCG (Ret.) recently completed a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail and in doing so has earned the right to be call a "2000-miler". Completing the entire 2,175 miles of the Appalachian Trail in one trip is a mammoth undertaking.
