11/16/2015 - BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo.- -- Col.
John Wagner, 460th Space Wing commander, spoke at the Association of
Defense Communities' Rocky Mountain Regional Forum on Nov. 12, 2015 in
Colorado Springs.
The forum was an opportunity for a variety of Department of Defense
personnel and community representatives to discuss installation and
community impacts.
"This event brought together community and industry leaders from across
the Rocky Mountain region for a first-of-its-kind one-day event to
gather intelligence on the latest activities at the Pentagon and on
Capitol Hill and the impact they have across the region," said ADC Rocky
Mountain Regional Forum Host Committee.
Wagner discussed the vast and vital missions that occur on Buckley AFB
and how the relationships with the community and surrounding areas
directly support the mission success of each unit.
Team Buckley's community partnerships and initiatives were also
addressed, showcasing local investments and local job creations that
help provide approximately $1 billion of an economic impact to the local
community.
"This event recognized experts in defense policy and installation
management, as well as key leaders from local and state government. This
event was perhaps the region's most comprehensive defense-oriented
educational offering ever," said ADC Rocky Mountain Regional Forum Host
Committee.
Through collaborative community partnerships, Buckley AFB is able to
build a viable supportive community for Airmen and their families, said
Wagner; strong relationships with the community provide the resources
for installations to remain agile and innovative.
