1/13/2014 - INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- The
728th Air Mobility Squadron provided aircraft and personnel reception
for more than 100 German soldiers who arrived at Incirlik Air Base,
Turkey Jan. 9, 2014.
The German personnel who arrived will continue to Kahramanmaras, Turkey
where they will assume responsibility for manning two Patriot missile
batteries. This latest iteration of soliders continues more than a year
of German support to the NATO mission to increase Turkey's air defense
capabilities against Syrian ballistic missile threats.
The 728th AMS and 39th Air Base Wing have provided a variety of support
to U.S., Dutch and German NATO forces such as aircraft and personnel
processing, transportation, lodging and morale and welfare services
since the Patriot batteries and associated personnel first arrived in
Turkey in January, 2013.
