6/19/2013 - PITTSBURGH IAP ARS -- The 911th Maintenance Group here set a new record and personal best with an eight-day fly to fly, May 31 to June 7, 2013.
The C-130 left the hangar June 7 and was flown on a local mission and returned with zero discrepancies.
According to Tech. Sgt. Michael Wolfe, 911th Aircraft Maintenance
Squadron, it is all about the preparation that goes into the process
before the aircraft enters the hangar.
"Scheduling, coordinating and lining up all the jobs are key components
to the process, says Wolfe. "There's also a lot of hard work and late
nights for these guys, but turning an aircraft around in only eight days
make it all worthwhile. Our best to this point was 10 days," he said.
"Our goal here is to consistently get an aircraft through the ISO
process within seven to 10 days, and then back in the air with zero
discrepancies," said Wolfe.
