Malmstrom earns highest possible grade on Limited Nuclear Surety Inspection

10/24/2013 - MALMSTROM AIR FORCE BASE, Mont. -- The Air Force Global Strike Command Inspector General and Defense Threat Reduction Agency teams visited Malmstrom Oct. 21-24 to evaluate the 341st Missile Wing's ability to manage nuclear deterrence and global strike operations while complying with strict nuclear surety standards.

During the Limited Nuclear Surety Inspection, inspectors found zero errors or deficiencies throughout the multiple evaluation scenarios, special interest items and formal assessments.

"The 341st Missile Wing demands exacting focus, attention to detail, discipline and dedication to the highest principles and standards from every single Nuclear Airman," said Col. Robert Stanley, 341st Missile Wing commander. "I am extremely proud of every member of Wing One -- we were determined to prove to the world that we truly are the best at what we do day in and day out. We came into this inspection with something to prove, and our people are walking out with a perfect score and their heads held high."

"Every single one of these Nuclear Airmen understands the incredible responsibility and standards of perfection that come with the nuclear deterrence mission. They continue to accomplish their mission with great skill, professionalism and dedication," Stanley said. Nuclear Surety Inspections are extremely detailed and demand the highest standards of compliance and accountability.
