9/10/2014 - ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- The British, the French and reservists from several other nations are coming to America in August 2015, according to a Reserve Officers Association news release.

The Congress of the Interallied Confederation of Reserve Officers will meet in Washington, D.C.

The NATO-associated event, globally known by the French acronym CIOR, was last held in the United States in 1994. The 2014 CIOR Congress and its related military competition ended in August with Germany, the host nation, winning the top team award in events that displayed combat and medical tactics.

Part diplomatic conference part military competition, the congress is an annual meeting designed to facilitate CIOR's mission of support to the NATO alliance. The military competition is a team effort in which each member of the team must complete the events together. The events consist of pistol and rifle shooting, obstacle courses, utility swimming and orienteering.
