His accomplishments helped the 173rd garner the top spot in
individual medical readiness across the Air National Guard and even at one
point, the Department of Defense in May 2013.
He led a 20-member team to Martin, Tennessee, where they
provided free dental care to those unable to afford it on their own as a part
of Innovative Readiness Training in an exercise called 'Hope of Martin'.
During this exercise Anderson and his joint team of 130 Navy
and Air National Guard troops served more than 2,000 patients, with over 4,000
procedures completed at an estimated value of $300,000 in medical services.
Anderson was also selected for being generous with his time
as evidenced by his mentorship of 25 dental students currently attending Oregon
Institute of Technology.
When he is not on military status with the 173rd Fighter
Wing, Anderson is a clinical dentist with the Veteran's Affairs Outpatient
Clinic in White City.
