9/12/2014 - HOMESTEAD AIR RESERVE BASE, Fla. -- Members
of Homestead Air Reserve Base, Florida., gathered to celebrate the Air
Force's 67th birthday at the Community Activity Center here 7 Sept.
On Sept. 18, 1947 the United States Air Force was established. In order
to continue a strong Heritage and to celebrate the Air Force's 67th
birthday, the Wing tracked down the youngest Airman available on
Homestead ARB to cut and receive the first slice of birthday cake.
Airman first class Jordan Pare, 19 years old, works in the 70th Aerial
Port Squadron and was participating in his first unit training assembly
here. Pare said he was honored to cut the first slice of cake.
"Our Airmen have been and will continue to be the strength of the Air
Force," said Senior Master Sgt. Charlie Lespier, 482nd Force Support
Squadron sustainment flight chief.
